Fox Atomic has acquired the screenplay “Incurable” by Will Strouse. Vertigo’s Roy Lee and Doug Davison are producing alongside Smart Entertainment’s Jon Jacobs and Colin O’Reilly.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the story is described as a dramatic thriller that revolves around a support group for extraordinary people with extraordinary problems.
Vertigo’s Gabriel Mason brought the material into the shingle and will executive produce.
Atomic’s Lawrence Gray and Jeff Arkuss are shepherding the project for the studio.
The young-adult genre division of Fox Filmed Entertainment is busy filling up its development and production slate and this week tapped Kyle Newman to helm its remake of “Revenge of the Nerds” (HR 5/1).
Smar Entertainment is in production on “Blades of Glory” with Will Ferrell and has set up “Trap Door” at New Line.
Strouse is repped by UTA, Smart Entertainment and attorney Rob Szymanski at Eclipse. Vertigo also is repped by UTA.
