By Michael Schneider

November 3, 2009

Show comes from Chernin’s prod’n co.

Fox is developing a CIA-themed project from scribe Harris Wilkinson and Peter Chernin’s new 20th Century Fox TV-based production company.

Wilkinson, whose credits include the telepic “Stir of Echoes: The Homecoming,” also has a script in the works at NBC through Bob Yari Prods.

At Fox, the untitled spy thriller centers on a division of the CIA that specializes in “remote viewing” — the ability to gather information using paranormal means.

Chernin will exec produce the drama script through his Chernin Entertainment banner, which has now set up several projects this development season. Katherine Pope and Lauren Stein will also exec produce, and Len Wiseman is onboard to direct.

Then there’s “Self-Righteous,” which centers on young lawyers defending clients in New Orleans no one else wants to help. Yari Prods.’ Jonathan Berry is onboard as an exec producer.

Universal Media Studios is behind the project. Wilkinson is repped by APA and attorney Rob Szymanski
