The Gotham Group and Gaeta/Rosenzweig Films are partnering to produce family adventure pic “Geek Dad” with Thor Freudenthal (“Diary of a Wimpy Kid”) on board to direct.

Project is based on the book by Ken Denmead, released a year ago as “Geek Dad: Awesomely Geeky Pr-ojects and Activities for Dads and Kids to Share.” His second GeekDad book, “GeekDad’s Guide to Weekend Fun” is scheduled for release next week, and he’s working on a third.

Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and Eric Robinson of the Gotham Group will produce alongside Michael Gaeta and Alison Rosenzweig.

Four-year-old GeekDad is a Wired magazine blog focusing on activities for fathers and their kids such as Lego, Star Trek and Star Wars.

Freudenthal is attached to direct “Brotherhood of Scavengers” at Fox with 21 Laps producing and “Agnes Quill” at Paramount with Scott Aversano and Jason Clark producing.

He’s repped by Gersh, Gotham Group and attorney Rob Szymanski.
