Funnyman sets up sports-action drama.
Vince Vaughn’s Wild West Picture Show Prods. is setting up sports action drama “Ride” at 20th Century Fox.
“Hellified” scribes Jeremy Passmore and Andre Fabrizio wrote the pitch and filmmakers are keeping the logline under wraps.
Vaughn will produce alongside Wild West’s Victoria Vaughn and Sandra J. Smith. Fox and Wild West had no comment.
Banner has a number of projects in the works, including comedy series “Sullivan and Son,” which got a ten-episode order from TBS in February. Company is currently developing a bigscreen take on “The Rockford Files” for Universal, which released Wild West’s 2009 comedy “Couples Retreat.”
Vaughn is also starring in Fox’s “The Internship,” directed by Shawn Levy. Levy and Vaughn are producing the pic through their 21 Laps and Wild West banners, respectively. Thesp has no current plans to star in “Ride.”
Passmore and Fabrizio also have a tie to Fox through “Nocturne,” a post-apocalyptic pitch they sold to the studio several years ago. Len Wiseman later became attached to direct the script, which filmmakers have since retitled “The World After.” Scribes also wrote “San Andreas 3D,” which New Line recently attached Brad Peyton to direct.
Passmore also penned “Red Dawn,” which Open Road will unspool in the fall.
CAA reps Wild West, while Aperture Entertainment, Paradigm and Eclipse Law rep Passmore and Fabrizio.
