Theatrical/digital release skedded for early 2013.

Oscilloscope Laboratories has acquired North American rights to Todd Berger’s comedy “It’s a Disaster,” which premiered in June at the Los Angeles Film Festival.

Oscilloscope plans to take the pic to festivals during the fall, with a theatrical and digital release scheduled for early 2013.

The film was produced by Jeff Grace, Kevin M. Brennan, Gordon Bijelonic and Datari Turner. It was made in conjunction with Vacationeer Prods. and Cactus Three.

“It’s a Disaster” focuses on the reactions of eight friends, meeting for their weekly “couples brunch,” when a cluster of dirty bombs go off in downtown Los Angeles. Julia Stiles, David Cross, America Ferrera, Erinn Hayes, Rachel Boston, Kevin M. Brennan, Jeff Grace and Blaise Miller star; supporting cast includes Laura Adkin, Rob McGillivray, Jesse Draper and writer-director Berger.

Deal was negotiated by David Laub and Dan Berger of Oscilloscope with ICM Partners representing the filmmakers.

Berger is repped by Kohner Agency, Kaplan-Perrone, and attorney Rob Szymanski.
