Shooting set to start in London in May.
Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman have come on board
for Millennium Films “London Has Fallen” in a reprise of their roles
from “Olympus Has Fallen” (pictured). Millennium’s affiliate Nu Image will begin selling international markets at next week’s American Film Market.
Producers are Gerard Butler, Alan Siegel, Mark Gill, Matt O’Toole and Danny Lerner. Exec producers are Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Boaz Davidson, John Thompson and Christine Crow. No director has been attached.
The script has been written by “Olympus” scribes Katrin Benedikt and Creighton Rothenberger, represented by Gersh, Kaplan/Perrone, and attorney Rob Szymanski.
The story will take place in London with an attack on the city during the funeral of the British prime minister, attended by a U.S. Secret Service agent (played by Butler), the U.S. president (Eckhart) and the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives (Freeman).
Shooting is scheduled to begin in London in May.
“Olympus Has Fallen,” which had a budget of $70 million, grossed a solid $161 million worldwide following its March launch. Sony’s similar “White House Down” had a budget of $150 million and grossed $211 million worldwide following its June opening.
