Cannes: Christopher Plummer to Star in Atom Egoyan’s ‘Remember’

Christopher Plummer will star in thriller Remember, which will be directed by Atom Egoyan.

Also appearing in the film will be Martin Landau, Dean Norris, Bruno Ganz, Heinz Lieven and Gunter Lamprecht.

The film, described as “a compelling thriller in which the darkest chapter of modern history collides with a contemporary mission of revenge,” is produced by Ari Lantos and Robert Lantos, and executive produced by Mark Musselman and Anant Singh.

From an original screenplay by Benjamin AugustRemember is slated to begin principal photography on July 14 on location in Toronto.

Remember will be distributed by Entertainment One in Canada, ARP in France and Videovision Entertainment in South Africa. IM Global, which is handling international sales excluding North America, will be launching sales on the Serendipity Point Films project in Cannes.

“I am looking forward immensely to be working once again with Atom Egoyan and Robert Lantos — this time, on a story which promises to be at once shocking, arresting and powerful beyond measure,” said Plummer, who previously worked with the director and producer on 2002 film Ararat. 

Plummer won a best supporting actor Oscar in 2010 for Beginners. His upcoming films include The Forger and Imagine. He’s repped by ICM Partners.

“I’m very excited to work with Robert on our eighth project together. Ben August has written a complex and riveting story told with great emotional clarity. Christopher Plummer is one of the finest actors in the world, and this will be a crowning performance,” said Egoyan.
