Aaron Berg (“Section 6”) has been tapped to pen a new script for the third film in the “G.I. Joe” franchise.
D.J. Caruso is slated to helm the next entry in the action franchise based on the Hasbro toyline. Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing.
Berg’s “Section 6” spec script caused a bidding war with Universal nabbing the rights. Said script provoked a lawsuit from MGM and Danjaq who claimed it was a James Bond knockoff.
The dispute was settled and now the film has Joe Cornish as director and Jack O’Connell attached to star. Berg is repped by CAA, Management 360, and attorney Rob Szymanski.
