Fast and Furious producer Neal H. Moritz is reteaming with screenwriter Bragi F. Schut for an untitled supernatural thriller, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

The producer has dipped into his discretionary find at his Original Films banner to pick up the spec script. Its logline is being kept under wraps but has been described as being in the vein of What Lies Beneath, Robert Zemeckis‘ 2000 movie that starred Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer and centered on a woman who comes to believe her lakeside home is haunted.

Moritz has a first-look deal with Sony and the project is likely to head over there soon, according to insiders.

Schut co-wrote The Maze, a low-budget thriller from Sony that Moritz is producing. Deborah Ann Woll, Logan Miller and Taylor Russell are starring in the pic, with a fall shoot in South Africa planned.

Schut is known for penning the 2011 supernatural action movie Season of the Witch that starred Nicolas Cage. He is currently writing a drama pilot titled The Six for Sony TV and Crackle. Schut is repped by Verve, Brian Spink at Realm Management and attorney Rob Szymanski at Eclipse Law Corporation.

Moritz recently wrapped production on Happy!, the Syfy pilot adaptation of the Grant Morrison comic starring Christopher Meloni.
