It’s been well over a year since we’ve heard a peep about Julius Avery‘s (Overlord) Samaritan, but the Sylvester Stallone-starring superhero movie has resurfaced this morning.

MGM Studios has announced today that Samaritan will unmask the truth on August 26, and the film will now be available exclusively through Amazon Prime Video.

While you wait, find two new Samaritan posters below. An official MGM tweet teases, “25 years ago, the world’s greatest hero vanished. It’s time to unmask the truth…”

“Based on an original idea, the thriller centers on a young boy who is out to discover if a mythic superhero, who vanished 20 years earlier following a tragic event, is still alive.”

“This is a big event movie – we see our heroes kicking ass,” Avery had recently told Total Film. “We’re going to see Sly do things he hasn’t done in a long time, and in a really inventive way. He’s 73 years old! I’m amazed by how much he actually does. I’m telling you, most guys in their twenties wouldn’t be able to do what Sly does in this movie.”

Bragi F. Schut (Escape Room) wrote the script.
